Description
Asagiri - Morning mist, "a book of popular poetry and songs, much of it about the pleasure quarters and its joys. The preface, by ôta Saburô himself, recounts that this is a record of 300 years of poetry and old people's stories. Then follow the poems, etc. with small illustrations of scenes from daily life, still-lifes, etc. on the opposite page in a style suggesting quick pen strokes with subtle watercolour washes". In two volumes (19 x 12.8 cm), published by ôhashi Mitsukishi in 1912.
Condition
Fine impression and colours, very good condition: very few small stains, a bit of foxing here and there, but altogether a very attractive copy of a very attractive publication. Vol 1 has got 39 pp, and Vol II 38 pp. Altogether there are 70 full-page colour prints.
