Description The heroine Matsukaze Paper size: 28.5 x 45.5 cm. From the series The Complete works of Chikamatsu, published 1922 and 1926. The earliest impressions, like this one, have the printer's and carver's names in the bottom margin. The carver, by the way, was Yamagishi Kazue (1893-1966), whose carving skills were used by many contemporary artists, but who was also a good artist in his own right..
