Description Kotô (古搭) - Old Pagoda Paper size: 22.8 x 35 cm. Red "Sasa" seal bottom left. Self-printed ca. 1960. This print has been made with the deep-groove technique, typical of Sasajima's later work: moist paper was forced into deep woodblock grooves once dry, the highest remaining ridges were made black with sumi in this particular case Kihei has attempted a special effect, trying to achieve more depth in the black surfaces.
