Description The deserter, from a novel by Tsukahara Jûshien published in Bungei Kurabu Vol. 5 No. 12 in 1900 (Meiji 32)

Condition Fine impression, colours and condition. Kuchi-e like this normally have two folds however, a very limited number escaped being inserted into novels and consequently have no folds.This particular print has blindprinting, the strands of the hair are printed in lacquer, an extra white colour block has been used to form a contrast with the colour of the paper.
