Description Portrait of Hagiwara Sakutarô Paper size: 42.2 x 52.8 cm. Printed by Sekino Jun'ichirô in 1949 in an edition of 50 copies. Two Onchi seals top left: "K" and "onzi". This print, originally printed by Onchi in 1943 in an edition of two copies, is extensively discussed in Impressions #29, 2007-8. A rare and important work

Condition Fine impression and colours, very good condition: this copy has a backing, which is a blessing in disguise as this large print was printed on very thin paper, making it very vulnerable. Through the backing (against the light) one can see the large square seal bottom right indicating Sekino as the printer. The backing has a few faint foxing spots, whereas the print itself is virtually free of blemishes.
