Description Poem No. 8: Season of butterflies (Poeme No. 8: 蝶の季節 ) Paper size: 35.6 x 45.3 cm., self-printed ca. 1948. It is certain that this is not the reprinted edition of 1960. A real leaf was used, and the leaf in the reprinted version is different from the one used in the original version. Please compare a copy of the original in the Honolulu Academy of Art, and a copy of the reprinted version in the Harvard Art Museum. It is impossible to say if Onchi printed this copy himself (he was not keen on making more than 10 impressions of any of his designs), but it is almost certain that this is a lifetime impression.
