Description Dojoji Maiden Made in December 2000 Paper size: 10.2 x 15.5 cm. Edition size: ca. 160 Watercolour on Japanese paper 17 cherry woodblocks used. This small print was made for the Year of the Snake, 2001. It illustrates the well-known story of the female demon who bewitched a young monk. When he regretted his weakness he hid under a bell. The demon turned into a snake, coiled around the bell under which the terrified novice was hiding, and then melted it.
