Description Hanga ehon Carmen (版画絵本カルメン ) - Woodblock book Carmen Book size: 22.4 x 30.3 cm. The book consists of four thin cardboard sheets, joined with two staples and folded double. The central full-colour sheet is therefore 44.8 x 30.3 cm. Hand-printed in December 1934 by Hide Kawanishi using a printing press especially bought for this publication by publisher Hirai Hiroshi. Condition Fine impression and colours, fairly good condition: the outside is clearly browned and a bit smudged, but the inside pages are in better shape, with some foxing altogether the condition is acceptable. A rare book.
