Bairin (梅 林 ) - Plum orchard Paper size: 30.6 x 22.2 cm. One print fom the series Nihon gendai sosaku-hanga taishu - Japan Modern Creative Print Collection, published in 1927 by Hasegawa Tsuneo, owner of Nihon Hanga Sha. This collection consisted of twelve prints by six artists. The prints were carved by the artists and were printed by Shimizu Koichi, a friend of the artists.
Condition
Fine impression and colours, very good condition. Still in the original folder, with a red stamp on the back of the mat, giving the title, name of the artist and of the publishing company. For an illustration see: Nihon no hanga, Vol. III, Chiba City Art Museum 1999-2004, p. 61
