Tanaka Hisara 田中比左良 was born in Gifu. He is a manga artist and illustrator. In 1921 found employment at Shufu no Tomo Co., produced illustrations for novels. In 1930 began drawing manga series for 'Yomiuri sandei manga'. Produced illustrations for novels serialized in newspapers. Known for his illustrations of 'modan gaaru' (literally, 'modern girls') during the 1920s-30s.
