Ôba Tomio 大場冨生 was born in Morioka in 1949. Since his first great prize at the Iwate Art Festival his fame has been steadily rising. He is very well known in Japan, where he has been exhibiting extensively since the 1990s, both in solo and in group exhibitions. He is also active as a graphic designer, and well known for his poster designs.
