Morimura Ray was born in Tokyo. He graduated from Tokyo Gakugei University. He began his career as a painter using abstract, geometric forms. Later he turned to woodblock prints as his preferred medium. In this century he has really broken through as a printmaker with regular solo exhibitions in Japan and the USA. He regularly exhibits at the annual, prestigious CWAJ print shows in Tokyo, having participated more than 20 times by now.
