Description
Nagasaki hakkei - Eight Views of Nagasaki A complete set of 8 woodblock prints, each with a supporting sheet of thin cardboard plus text sheet of transparent paper giving explanatory notes in Japanese and English. The prints are 28 x 19 cm., the mounting sheets are 38 x 30 cm. This set was produced around 1950, when the rebuilding of Nagasaki was well underway.
Condition
Fine impression and colours, good/very good condition: some wear to some of the supporting sheets (e.g. tears to the transparent text sheets), but the prints generally in very good condition. There must have been a folder holding the 8 prints, but of that only the (woodblock-printed) label is left. Most probably a very rare set!
