Kobayashi Haruki was born in Niigata, Agano Prefecture, in 1953. Already at 18 he had his first solo exhibition. In 1972 he moved to Kyoto, and he has been working there ever since. His speciality are cityscapes. Most of his exhibitions have been in Japan, but his prints have also been exhibited in Berlin.
