Born in Hakodate (Hokkaidô) in 1944, Kikuchi Shunji attended Musashino Art University (Painting Department). He graduated in 1967, and then started a successful career. He had many exhibitions; his first solo exhibition was in 1971, the same year he made an art training trip to Europe. When he returned he had many solo exhibitions. In 1975 he had a solo exhibition in Berlin. in 1977 he travelled extensively in Mexico and Central America. So far I have not found any particulars about the rest of his career.
