Description
Young woman in winter dress Paper size: 25.1 x 33 cm. Self-printed in 1930. Pencil-signed and dated in the bottom margin. Red artist's seal top right. Poem by Yosano Akiko - 與謝野 晶子 (1876-1942), pioneering feminist poet, "whose powerful and highly personal verse in her collection Midaregami created a sensation in Japan in 1901", to the right. This is probably the companion piece of a similar print by Onchi Kôshirô, see "detail". Extremely rare!!
Condition
Fine impression, colour and condition Onchi Kôshirô, Fujimori Shizuo and Tanaka Kiyokichi were the original "three musketeers", who founded the groundbreaking magazine Tsukuhae in 1914. Tanaka Kiyokichi died of tuberculosis in 1915.
