Description Playing Western music - A Quartet, from the series Showa shokugyo e-zukushi (昭和職業絵尽) - Japanese vocations in pictures. Paper size: 38.4 x 28.7 cm., published by Nishinomiya-no-in in June 1939 in a limited edition of 300 prints. Original series title bottom right. Still attached to the original supporting sheet of heavy brown paper.
Condition Fine impression and colours, very good condition: blindprinting a few faint foxing spots The publishing company was set up by Wada Sanzô in 1938 with the express intention of publishing a series of 100 images, which were to be published two per month. Only 48 designs were published until 1943, and after the war the idea was picked up by Kyoto Hanga-in.
