Hongô motomachi kôen (本郷元町公園 ) - Hongo Motomachi Park Paper size: 19.1 x 25.9 cm. Number 3 from an edition of 50, published by Nakajima Jûtarô in August 1931, as part of the series One Hundred Views of New Tokyo - Shin Tokyo hyakkei. With the original folder (detail 1) showing the title slip of the series plus a red stamp giving the title of the print, plus artist's name. On the print the artist's name in red bottom left. Shin Tokyo hyakkei is undoubtedly the best pre-war series of Sôsaku Hanga, with contributions by the ten leading artists of the period.
Condition
Fine impression, colours and condition the folder shows foxing and browning, but the print itself is completely unaffected. RARE
