Shirô Takagi started exhibiting in 1957, after he had studied woodblock printing with Amano Kunihiro. He participated in many international print exhibitions. During a period in his career his prints were published by the S. Watanabe Color Print Company, which is very unusual for a Sôsaku Hanga artist.
