Born in Wakayama, he was mainly a painter working in Kyoto. In 1930 he participated to a revival of the traditional Japanese painting (Yamato-e) and participated to the series of landscape prints published by Shin Yamato-e Moku Hanga Kankokai under the direction of Matsuoka Eikyu.
