Yamanaka Yukindo (1920-2003)

Born in Hiroshima, Yamanaka Yukindo (山中雪人) graduated as a Japanese-style painter at the Tokyo Art School. He is primarily known as a painter, specializing in paintings with Buddhist subjects. Between 1983 and 1997 he won six awards at the yearly Inten exhibitions. He died of lung cancer in Yokohama in May 2003.
