Ôhira Kasen studied traditional Japanese painting, but already in his 20s he started to work for Shinbisha Publishing. He is mainly know for two series: "24 Sections of Tokyo" and "24 Figures of Charming Women", which appeared around 1931. It has been suggested that the latter series was never finished because of censorship problems.
