Nakao Yoshitaka was born in 1911. He studied woodblock printing with Azechi Umetarô, but after WWII he also made cement prints. From 1948 he was a member of the Nihon Hanga Kyôkai. He is mainly known for his representations of people and objects in a simplifiued abstract form. On three occasions (1946, 1949 and 1950) he contributed prints to the Ichimokushû (The First Thursday Collection).
