Miyata Saburô (1924 - 2013)

Miyata Saburô was born in Nagano Prefecture. After WW II he started his career. Working in Tokyô he has exhibited in the Nitten, the Issuikai, the Japan Watercolor Association, and with the Japan Print Association. He founded the Tokyô Print Research Institute in Tokyô and he has been an important spokesman in Japan regarding prints, attending nationwide conferences with art educators. Miyata has had 250 solo exhibitions of his work, many at the Mitsukoshi department stores. His well-known print portfolio, a work which took 18 years to research and complete, is titled "The Japanese landscape series".
