Kojima Kimiko was born in Okazaki City, Aichi prefecture, Japan. When she was 16 years old, her picture of a honeymoon couple traveling to the moon won the third prize in the contest of space pictures sponsered by UNESCO. She has had one-woman shows in several galleries in Tokyo as well as in Nagoya, Canada and the United States. Every year she had solo-shows in Ginza from 1970 - 2002. She also won awards as the most promising artist in the 80's.
