Biography Katô, Yasu (1907 - 1997)
Born in Tokyo, Yasu Katô graduated at the Kyoto College of Crafts and textiles in 1929. He studied printmaking with Hiratsuka Un'ichi, and was also influenced by Onchi Kôshirô and Kawanishi Hide. His most important period was after the war. He exhibited in Japan as well as abroad. His travels also yielded many prints showing European scenes.
