Biography Kakô, Tsuji (1870 - 1931)

Tsuji Kakô is primarily known as one of the best and most original Nihonga painters of the early 20th century. He belongs to the "Four great painters", together with Kikuchi Hôbun (1862-1918), Yamamoto Shunkyo (1871-1933), and of course Takeuchi Seihô (1864-1942).
Next to his paintings he made a small number of kacho-e prints in the beginning of the 20th century.
