Biography Hasegawa, Tomisabur˘ (1910 - 2004)

Born in Himeji, Hyogo Prefecture, Hasegawa Tomisabur˘ graduated at Tottori Normal School in 1936. He studied with Kawai Kanjir˘ and Munakata Shik˘. He was a member of the Kokugakai (National Picture Organisation) and the Banga-in (which changed its name to Nihon Hanga-in - Japanese Woodblock Print Academy in 1984), which was founded by Munakata Shik˘ in 1952. Hasegawa Tomisabur˘ participated in its first exhibition in that same year. He had many solo shows in Kobe, Osaka, Hiroshima and Nagoya a.o..
