Biography Ogawa, Tatsuhiko (1910 - 1988)

From 1927 onward Ogawa Tatsuhiko was active as a woodblock artist. He contributed to many Hanga magazines, Shiro to kuro and Han geijutsu among them, and he was the main publisher of several other Hanga magazines, Yūkari its main example. He was born, lived and worked in Shizuoka. He was also active in the Japan folk art movement and was influenced by Yanagi Sōetsu. His death was tragic: he was burned to death in a house fire.
