Biography Shinagawa, Takumi (1908 - 2009)

Shinagawa Takumi was born in Kashiwazaki, Niigata Prefecture. In 1928 he graduated in metal sculpture at the Tokyo Prefectural Crafts School. Onchi Kôshirô (1891-1955) taught him woodblock carving and printing. In 1947 he became a member of the Nihon Hanga Kyôkai. A versatile artist, who was often represented in exhibitions outside Japan.
