Biography ďta, K˘ji (1900 - )

K˘ji ďta was born in Hy˘go prefecture in 1900. He studied at Hong˘ Painting Institute. He studied printmaking with Onchi K˘shiro and lithography with Oda Kazuma. He was active in the proletarian art movement. He exhibited with the Z˘kei Hanga Ky˘kai, and was a member of the Nihon Hanga Ky˘kai from 1944-1972. He was a founding member of the Japan Print Movement Association in 1949. Around this time he was one of the contributors to the First Thursday Society (Ichimokushű).
He was also active in establishing the Japan Education Print Association in 1951 and in promoting print education for children.
