Biography Takata, Kazuo (1906 - 1982)

Kazuo Takata was born in Yamaguchi prefecture. He belonged to the S˘saku Hanga movement, and exhibited with the Nihon Hanga Kyokai and the Kokugakai. During world war II he worked as a war correspondent for the newspaper Asahi Shinbun and made several prints with Korean subjects. Especially in his b/w woodblock prints his work resembles that of Munakata Shik˘.
