Biography Takata, Kazuo (1906 - 1982)

Kazuo Takata was born in Yamaguchi prefecture. He belonged to the Sôsaku Hanga movement, and exhibited with the Nihon Hanga Kyokai and the Kokugakai. During world war II he worked as a war correspondent for the newspaper Asahi Shinbun and made several prints with Korean subjects. Especially in his b/w woodblock prints his work resembles that of Munakata Shikô.
