Biography Ikeda, Eiji (1889 - 1950)

Born in Kyoto, Ikeda Eiji was taught wood engraving by his father. Subsequently he studied painting at the Taiheiy˘gakai, an artists' association of Western-style painters. One of his teachers was Ishii Hakutei He exhibited oil paintings at the Bunten and Teiten, and later taught at the Taiheiy˘gakai. His output of S˘saku Hanga was limited.
