Biography Inagaki, Tomoo 稲垣 知雄 (1902 - 1980)

From 1923 Inagaki Tomoo studied woodblock making and printing with Onchi Kôshirô and Hiratsuka Un'ichi, after he had a print accepted in their magazine Poems and Hanga, and as early as 1924 he started exhibiting with most current woodblock groups, Nihon Hanga Kyôkai among them, and published in the major magazines (Hanga a.o.). From the 1920s also a number of small paintings by him are known.
After WWII he limited the scope of his work and concentrated on stylized and highly successful prints of cats.
