Biography Tanaka, Ikka 田中 一華 (1864 - 1924)

Tanaka Ikka (1864-1924) was born in Kyoto. In 1881 he became the pupil of Kubota Beisen (1852-1906). In 1884, one of his paintings received a prize at the Naikoku Kaiga Kyoshinkai - Domestic Painting Competition, and many other prizes followed in the following years. In 1888, he founded the Kanbi Kyokai together with Takeuchi Seiho. In 1907 one of his paintings was given a prize at the 1st Bunten. In 1924, he died at the age of 60.
