Description
Kasa (傘) - Umbrellas Paper size: 33.2 x 47.2 cm. The first print from a new tattoo series called Honga Dori (本画取り) - Reused Images (series title printed in silver, in the left margin), in which Paul Binnie will recycle antique woodblocks for the tattoo design. In this case a block (see detail 1) from the first quarter of the 18th century has been used, and the benizuri colouring is in keeping with the time the original woodblock was printed, Self-printed in September 2014 in an edition of 100. Print details in pencil in the bottom margin.
