Mitsusada, Fujiwara 光貞 藤原 (1738 - 1806)
Moon and bat
| Signed: | Tosa Fujiwara Mitsusada, Head of the Painting Bureau, Upper 4th Rank |
Sealed: | Mitsusada no in |
Date: | ca. 1805 |
Size: | 133.5 x 66.8 cms (mounting) 38.3 x 55.7 cms (painting)
52 x 26 inch (mounting) 15 x 22 inch (painting) |
Technique: | sumi and colours on silk |
Condition: | Chûberi (middle part) of light brown silk brocade, top and bottom of pale blue silk. Dark-brown ichimonji and futai, black lacquer rollers. Titled, inscribed and dated wooden box: the box has suffered woodworm damage; it is dated Bunka 10 (1813), and is the oldest original box I have ever had. Probably the original mounting (again a very rare phenomenon), which is a bit brittle, but still serviceable. In spite of light mottling the painting is in overall good condition. |
Price: | SOLD Euro
