Technique: | sumi on silk |
Condition: | Top and bottom of mounting of grey silk, middle part (ch?beri) of brown&grey silk brocade. Ichimonji and futai of light-brown&gold silk, ivory rollers, inscribed wooden box (not contemporary, but definitely 19th c., as is the mounting). Some toning to the top half of the painting, a few small holes in the mounting, but generally in good condition. |

Literature: | Kishi Ganku is the founder of the Kishi school, one of the important painting schools in Kyoto, next to the Maruyama and Shijô schools. His work is found in all publications on 19th century painting. |
