|Technique:||sumi on silk|
|Condition:||Top and bottom of mounting of grey silk, middle part (ch?beri) of brown&grey silk brocade. Ichimonji and futai of light-brown&gold silk, ivory rollers, inscribed wooden box (not contemporary, but definitely 19th c., as is the mounting). Some toning to the top half of the painting, a few small holes in the mounting, but generally in good condition.|
|Literature:||Kishi Ganku is the founder of the Kishi school, one of the important painting schools in Kyoto, next to the Maruyama and Shij˘ schools. His work is found in all publications on 19th century painting.|
