Sakamoto Yoshinobu (1895 - 1988)

From the series Tosa sanjū ezu (土佐三十絵図) 30 Views of Tosa ) (Shikoku), self-printed between 1932 and 1935: #25 Sagawa no ame (Sagawa-eki) (佐川の雨（佐川駅）)Rain in Sagawa (Sagawa Station).
Paper size: 37 x 25.3 cm. Title top right – with the addition of “Spring rain”. Printed on fairly thin, long-fibred paper. It is difficult to assess if the printing was deliberately clumsy (possibly to reinforce the Sōsaku Hanga character of the print), or because he was not such a good printer.
