Sakamoto Yoshinobu (1895 - 1988)

From the series Tosa sanjū ezu (土佐三十絵図) 30 Views of Tosa ) (Shikoku), self-printed between 1932 and 1935: #10 Ume no dan (梅の段) - The plum blossom stage (near Kochi castle). Paper size: 37.3 x 25.5 cm. Artist’s seal “Saka” bottom right. Printed on fairly thin, long-fibred paper. It is difficult to assess if the printing was deliberately clumsy (possibly to reinforce the Sōsaku Hanga character of the print), or because he was not such a good printer.
