Fukazawa, Sakuichi (1896 - 1947)

Shibazōjōji Sanmon (芝増上寺山門 ) - Gate to Zōjōji Temple (Shiba)
Paper size: 26.6 x 19.1 cm. Number 3 from an edition of 50, published by Nakajima Jūtarō in May 1929, as part of the series One Hundred Views of New Tokyo – Shin Tokyo hyakkei. With the original folder (detail 1) showing the title slip of the series plus a red stamp giving the title of the print, plus artist’s name. On the print small artist’s seal “Sak” bottom left. Shin Tokyo hyakkei is undoubtedly the best pre-war series of Sōsaku Hanga, with contributions by the ten leading artists of the period.
