Han no kai 1941
Album of new year’s cards (year of the snake), distributed among 50 woodblock print artists, mainly members of the Nihon Hanga Kyōkai, under the leadership of the Han no Kai’s founder, Takei Takeo (1894-1983). Introductory postcard by Kawakami Sumio (top right), then 50 cards and 5 additional cards. This album once belonged to one of the participating artists, the lesser known Umehara Yosōji, and is complete with the colophon card and the two index cards. The album was designed by Ita Yusei. Detail 1 gives the cards not included in the large photograph.
