Tokuriki, Tomikichirō (1902 - 2000)

Combination of print and preparatory watercolour of Lake Biwa (琵琶湖) from Series of Secret Places and Historic Landmarks, published by Uchida in 1941. Size of the print is 41,7 x 28.7 cm., size of the watercolour is 42.6 x 28.7 cm.

Condition: print: good, watercolour: a bit smudged and tired. It is very interesting to see how the Uchida carver and printer has translated Tokuriki’s watercolour into a woodblock print.
