Takeda, Shintarô (1886 - 1957)
Paper size: 51.7 x 40.8 cm. Self-printed, probably in 1930s. A very striking design, the largest I have seen of him so far. This design resembles his contribution to the (unfinished) series One Hundred Views of New Japan - Shin Nihon Hyakkei, Hozu Rapids. His usual signature “SHIN” carved in the block.
Fine impression and colours, very good condition: heavy foxing has been expertly removed by one of the best paper restorers in the field; a few light traces remain, but hardly visible.
