Godzilla with Polar Bears

The Polar Bear is an animal that thrives in the cold. It is a formidable predator hunting from the pack ice of the Arctic seas. They eat mainly seals, but hungry bears will make do with a wide range of food. The Polar Bear is one of the few animals that will size up a person as a piece of prey. Each spring when the ice melts the bears come ashore to mate and wait out the summer in dens dug into the permafrost. Each autumn when the weather cools the hungry bears gather at the shore waiting for the ice to cover the sea.

Although the Polar Bear is a powerful animal able to swim many miles through open water it cannot survive without the ice. The ice gives the bear the opportunity to hunt for seals at the holes where they come up to breathe. The icy waters also bring currents filled with the nutrients that feed the entire biomass of the ocean. Every year there is a stream of life that depends on the change of season. The position of the bear is like an iceberg, it can only exist with the weather permitting.
