Biography Itô, Yûhan (1882 - 1951)

Yûhan Itô was a landscape artist who designed a limited number of woodblock prints during the 1930s. At the moment not more than 10 designs are known. His work was published by Nishinomiya Yosaku.
His prints are characterized by vivid colors and subtle gradations. They resemble watercolours, as they mostly lack an outlining keyblock. Also watercolours by him are known, which closely resemble his work in the woodblock medium.
