Biography Takahashi, Tasabur (1904 - 1977)
Takahashi Tasabur was a student of the painter and occasional printmaker Tsuchida Bakusen; he was also influenced by Nagase Yoshiro. He had graduated at the Kyoto Technical School of Painting. In 1935-36 he exhibited with the Nihon Hanga Kykai. Before WWII he had already cooperated with Tokuriki Tomikichir . In 1948 the latter, Takahashi Tasabur, Kamei Tobei and Kotozuka Eiichi established a company named Koryokusha to publish their own Ssaku hanga. Krokusha was financed by Matsuky, a company owned by Tokuriki Tomikichir . Tomikichir's heart was with the self-carved and self-printed Ssaku hanga prints.
