Biography Fukiya, Koji (1898 - 1979)

Fukiya Koji was born in Niigata prefecture. After studying Japanese-style painting he went to France between 1926 and 1930 to continue his studies there. His style was strongly influences by Takehisa Yumeji, and it strongly resembles that of Nakahara Junichi (1912-1988). Typical for his woodblock prints of the artist are the idealized images of young girls.
