Biography Tanaka, Kiyoshi (1947 - )

Tanaka Kiyoshi was born in Tajima, Hyogo prefecture, in 1947. He studied at the Chubi Central Art School. In 1974 he had his first solo exhibition at a Tokyo gallery, and already in 1978 he participated in the prestigious CWAJ exhibition. Many other solo exhibitions followed, at least once a year, mainly in Tokyo. In 2009 he again participated in the 54th CWAJ show. Lately his work is characterized by strong forms and contrast, but now in black-and-white.
