Biography Asai, Kiyoshi (1902 - 1968)

Born in Hiroshima prefecture, Asai Kiyoshi studied with Saitô Yori (1885-1959) and Nakazawa Hiromitsu (1874-1964), two well-known painters, after which he exhibited widely at the Bunten, Teiten and Tôkôkai. He first showed woodblock prints with the Nihon Sôsaku-Hanga Kyôkai in 1929 and afterwards with the Nihon Hanga Kyôkai.
